Sohan Roy Awarded the ‘Sevachakra Puraskar’
Renowned filmmaker and Naval Architect Mr. Sohan Roy, CEO of Aries Group of Companies was awarded the ‘ Sevachakra Puraskar’ in recognition of his outstanding individual achievements and significant contributions towards the society. The award was presented by the All India Economy Survey Award Council (AIESAC) on February 23 at Hotel ‘The Connaught’, New Delhi. During the ceremony, his venture Aries Group of Companies was also honoured with the ‘Super Quality Crown Award’ for its remarkable achievements in the industry.
Sohan Roy, a ship designer by profession, started his career as a Marine Engineer thus becoming the first Naval Architect in India to join Merchant Navy. He has a global reputation as the Director of the Oscar shortlisted movie DAM999 and the Creative Head & Project Designer of several award winning films & documentaries. By designing the largest steel snake boat in the world- Aries Punnamada Chundan, he became the first professional from the Maritime field to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
